Count every box on the pallet. Does the count match the Delivery Receipt? If not, note the discrepancy on the DR and inform the driver. Missing boxes? Don’t let it slide—get it in writing.
Inspect for Damage
Scan every box for damage. Dents, punctures, smashed edges? Open them on the spot to ensure everything inside is intact. If there’s damage, note it on the DR and inform the driver immediately. Drivers must wait up to 15 minutes for inspection, so don’t let them rush you. Refuse any damaged boxes and send them back with the driver. No notes on the DR = you’ve accepted the shipment in perfect condition, and any claims are off the table.
